Offers two types of membership: Patron, and Adult. Patron memberships are tax-deductible and begin at $100.00 per year and confer special priviledges not available with Adult or Youth memberships. Otherwise, annual dues for adults or youths are $10.00 per year. Annual dues for Patron members are due one year from the time of becoming a Patron member. Adult memberships are renewed every year on September 1, and expire on August 31 of the next year. For those wishing to join after April 1 of any year, a $15.00 membership is available for the remainder of that year and includes the following year.
Membership is required for participation in all TCA related chess events in Tennessee except certain scholastic-only competitions. All members with the exception of Family Memberships receive the Tennessee Chess News which is published quarterly and is the official magazine of the TCA.
