Jake Kleiman, a former White Station High School student from Memphis, TN, has qualified to play in the US Championship in August at the US Open.  He is now in his Freshman year at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.  

He earned the title of National Chess Master in 2003 and is currently ranked number 6 in the U.S. for his age group. Jake was invited to play in the U.S. Cadets, the World Junior Olympics, the U.S. Masters Tournament, and now has received an invitation from the American Foundation For Chess to play in the United States Championship.

Jake is no stranger to chess instruction, as he has worked with students at his own camps and in school settings for four years.  Schools include:  Oakhaven Elementary, J P Freeman Elementary & Middle school , Downtown Elementary, Grizzlies Academy, Lausanne Collegiate School, St. George's, Memphis Hebrew Academy, Grahamwood Elementary,  and instructs the Rhodes College Chess Team.
