POLICY ON HOME SCHOOL STUDENTS
PLAYING IN THE TENNESSEE SCHOLASTICS
         Home-taught scholastic students may play in the Tennessee State Scholastic Tournaments as follows:

         1.  Individual Regionals and Finals.  Students being educated at home in accordance with Tennessee law may play in these events in the section for their appropriate grade level.

         The grade for each section is as follows:

                   (1)  High School    Grade 12 & Below
                   (2)  Junior High     Grade    9 & Below
                   (3)  Elementary      Grade   6 & Below
                   (4)  Primary           Grade   3 & Below

         2.  Team Regionals and Finals.  Students being educated at home in accordance with Tennessee law may play in these events in the section for their appropriate grade level under the following conditions:

                   (1)  To play as a team students must be enrolled as a member of the same Home School Support Group.

                   (2)  Each Home School Support Group may enter only one team in each championship section based upon the appropriate grade level.

         (Home School Support Group is defined as having one name, under one President, meeting in one building, conducting meetings, classes or field trips, and providing a membership directorory.)

         3.  Age Requirements.  In addition to the grade level requirements, the grade level requirements, the age for each section is determined as of January 1 of the year of the tournament and is as follows:

                   (1)  High School   Age 19 or younger
                   (2)  Junior High     Age 15 or younger
                   (3)  Elementary     Age 13 or younger
                   (4)  Primary          Age   9 or younger
